True Story of a Teenage Burn Survivor

Dear Readers:
You know how it feels to be enthused about something you're working on, and it's all you can think about?  I was in the middle of a book project that I was really enthused about.  (tell you about it on the author page...)  Then an accident happened.
Safety Tip
My teenage son was left with a serious burn injury.   What would it be like to recover from a giant burn?  What I though it would be like wasn't so.  Soon THIS was all I could think about.

"If I'd known anything about burns," my son Alvin said, "I wouldn't have taken that chance.  I would've prevented my own accident."  If only he'd known about burns.

When cooking, turn handles away from the edge of the stove so a child won't pull it and tip it over. It will soon become a habit. Even if there are no children in your household, you could have company with a child or cook somewhere else where there are children around, and you'll naturally have your panhandles away from curious hands. Never leave a child unattended near a stove in use or open flame.
When Alvin met other burn survivors, I was with him. It was me who read every story I could about other burn survivors, and read studies of even more...  

Others CAN know about burns.  Someone who can tell you about it is me -- and Alvin. In the book we take turns telling you what happened.
